The Community Food Closet is open 24/7 and can be accessed off Patricia Drive. No forms to fill out. No questions asked.

The CFC stocks non-perishable food, refrigerated items, grab and eat food, and ingredients to prepare meals. We also stock personal care items and pet food. You never know what you will find!
The NBCC Community Food Closet opened the spring of 2024. It is a blessing for NBCC members to stock the fridge and shelves every day since to ensure any family or person in our community does not go hungry and has access to the food they need. Friends and neighbors also bring food, including fresh items from their gardens (in the summer).
Since its opening, the CFC has been accessed by thousands of people from the Urbandale and greater Des Moines area. We have learned along the way and try our best to stock foods of greatest need and interest.
This is a community ministry that is being supported not only by New Beginnings Christian Church but also by the broader community. We are grateful for our partners in this ministry including West Des Moines Christian Church, Valley United Methodist Church, Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, St Andrews Episcopal Church and others .
