Authentic Worship:

We believe authentic worship is “the work of the people.” Your voice matters as we read together, sing together, laugh, learn and love together! We believe that a life of faith is a journey where we’re always learning and growing. Questions are welcome and encouraged here; our faith deepens and expands as we live into the answers together.

Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. and is designed for all ages. Our commitment to diversity and welcome is heard in our blended music style — we share together classic hymns and spirituals, contemporary music, chancel choir and more. Congregation participants, from children through adults, lead portions of each service; for worship is led by all of us.

We believe children are inherently spiritual beings. This is why we include a special message for children, given by the pastor or congregational leader, every Sunday. And why we have a dedicated space in our sanctuary to support children’s different learning needs and worshiping expressions.

We celebrate communion weekly. As a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we believe that the communion table is open to all. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old you are, what you believe, what you’ve done or where you are on your faith journey – you are always welcome at Christ’s table. We use gluten-free, nut-free wafers and grape juice.

If you value authenticity and heart over performance and perfection, you’ll feel at home here.

Make sure you stop by the Welcome Table in the gathering space to get oriented.

I’M NEW

Welcome!

Watch our welcome video from Pastor Suzanne

I am grateful for your courage and willingness to explore faith with us. Whether you’ve already visited us in worship, participated in one of our ministries, or simply just want to learn more about us, I recognize the courage it can take to reach out to people you may not know.

What a joy it is to introduce our church to you! At New Beginnings Christian Church, our doors are open wide to people from all backgrounds. If you’re looking to explore spiritual questions and work out your faith, then you’ll fit right in. We value journeying together, nurturing and supporting one another in questions of faith and life.

We are a compassionate and welcoming community who seek to understand and follow the Way of Jesus Christ. This means offering God’s love in radical hospitality and working alongside others for equity and justice, including being an Open and Affirming congregation. At New Beginnings Christian Church we understand that our faith isn’t complete until it becomes action in the world.

“Come as you are” isn’t a just a cliché here. This faith community, and the denomination of which we are a part, values diversity in thought and practice. We do our best to remember “in essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty, in all things, love.” All really does mean All at God’s table. ~ Pastor Suzanne

Worship

Check out our COVID-19 Policies

  • We hold one Sunday morning service at 10:30 am
  • We share Communion each week, and everyone is invited to partake.
  • We provide an order of service (printed and on the screen) to help folks participate. Hymnals are available if you like to see the printed music.
  • Coffee and snacks are free and available before and after the service.
  • Children (age 8 and younger) enjoy using our Pray-Ground space designed just for them, located at the back of the sanctuary. Parents are welcome to join them, or trust them to the care of our childcare staff.
  • Our songs during worship are a mix of classic hymns, more contemporary songs, spirituals, and other genres.
  • We stream our service, and post the recordings online as well.
  • We gladly receive financial contributions. Yet, as someone new to our faith community, your presence is the best offering.
  • Our building is fully handicap accessible and all-gender restrooms are available

Childcare

Nursery & childcare are available during study sessions and meetings, as needed.

During worship: Trained staff and volunteers supervise our younger children at worship in the Pray-Ground at the back of our worship space. A variety of quiet activities are also available to take to your seat. Parents/Guardians are welcome to join their children in the Pray-Ground too!

Dress

Come as you are, is a good descriptor of what we consider appropriate dress. You’ll see folks in jeans and shorts, dresses and suits, t-shirts or dress-shirts. We value our presence together, so come as authentically you.

What is Friendship Time?

After worship, we use the gathering space for a time of fellowship with coffee, punch and some sweet treat provided by church members. This is a great time to get to know one another better and to speak to our pastor.

Is the Building Accessible?

There are two entrances on the east side of the building, both of them are wheelchair accessible. The southern one accesses the worship space and offices. The northern one accesses the community room and classrooms. And a platform lift is available between the levels to facilitate access for folks with mobility differences. In addition, we use large-print bulletins, hearing enhancers are available for use in the worship and community spaces, primary indoor signage also has Braille text, restrooms are ADA compliant, and all-gendered restrooms are available on all levels of the building.
